Dave is responsible for managing the company’s business and day-to-day operations. With twenty-eight years of practical, hands-on mining and processing experience in remote locations in Canada, the United States, Central Asia and South America, Dave has attained a broad understanding of multi-disciplinary projects with an objective to safe, cost-effective and innovative solutions.
Dave has eleven years of international mining experience, including nine years at the Kumtor Gold Project in the Kyrgyz Republic. As a contractor, Dave has provided management services for Silver Standard’s Pirquitas Silver, Zinc and Tin project in Northern Argentina and was involved with change management during the construction, commissioning and subsequent start-up of the plant. He then saw it through commercial production as assistant plant manager. Dave has also provided plant commissioning and optimization services at the Aurizona Gold Mine in Brazil.
Dave got his first taste of mining at the Erickson Gold Mine in Northern BC. He moved to operating, supervising plant operations and maintenance through commissioning and start-ups in several small mines throughout BC. These mines include Kinross Gold QR Mine in Quesnel, Cheni Gold’s Lawyers property from start-up through reclamation, Sturdy Management Inc., a mining management company on reclamation and reactivation projects, including reclamation of the Lawyers property, revamp/restart of Skyline Gold’s Johnny Mt. Mine/Plant and a bulk sample processing of the New Privateer Mine on Vancouver Island, where he organized mechanical pre-start-up maintenance and reliability and subsequent start-up and operation of the plant.
More recently, Dave was Mill Superintendent at Sherwood Copper Minto Mine for the commissioning start-up and phase two expansion and Tahera Diamond Corporation Jericho Mine in Nunavut Territory during the initial start-up and into commercial production.
Dennis Dornan: Vice President Of Operations, Director
Dennis has extensive mine operations experience and is responsible for CRMC’s project operations management and specializes in process plant commissioning and start-ups. Working throughout the world, he has gathered over 40 years experience at over 50 large and small mining operations. Hands on experience has earned him many consulting positions which he has held for the past 20 years. Dennis specializes in gold, silver, lead, zinc, copper, nickel, iron ore, molymdenum, coal, magnetite and bitumen.
In many of the larger operations, Dennis was involved in all aspects of commissioning, training and successful start-ups. He has also been sent in to revitalize and resurrect many money losing mining operations, which he has successfully brought back to money making positions. Some of his most recent major accomplishments include improving copper recovery by 10% within days of arriving at a high grade copper mill in the Yukon. Dennis also brought a high grade gold mill in Northern Siberia, Russia into production under adverse conditions and was involved in training all local Russian operators and had the plant running at design tonnage and recovery within one month of start-up. Dennis was also involved in managing the construction, commissioning and start-up that successfully brought into production the Pirquitas silver, lead, zinc mine in Northern Argentina.
Dennis has had repeated success in numerous locations throughout the world, specializing in the recovery of precious metals. In short, he has established a reputation of creating self- reliance and success for mines which invariably equates to increased revenue share for owners and shareholders.
Presently, Dennis has taken on the role of Mine Manager under contract from CRMC at Craigmont Mines; a magnetite operation near Merritt, BC. Since taking over the operation in 2009, he has transformed Craigmont into a profitable operation and it is now one of BC’s major mining success stories.
